San Ildefonso Pueblo February 25, 2008

The Pueblo de San Ildefonso held elections on February 23, 2008. The tribe elected Leon T. Roybal as the New Governor of the Pueblo despite protest from the interim Governor Martin Aguliar.

Aguliar was removed from office as Governor and locked out of the Tribal Administration office after failing to hold a tribal council meeting to establish a process for elections of the Governor and 1st Lt. Governor, and selection of Tribal Council members. Establishing grounds for removing Aguliar and prohibiting him and several others from serving as Tribal Officials during 2008-2009.
